[02:03:01] <XXCoder> no update no news.

[02:04:52] <PetefromTn_> Jeez man I am stumped..
[02:04:54] -!- gleapsite has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
[02:05:16] <PetefromTn_> I hate to throw useful stuff away.
[02:05:24] <XXCoder> what stuff
[02:05:39] -!- gleapsite [gleapsite!~gleapsite@dpc6744192034.direcpc.com] has joined #linuxcnc
[02:05:41] <PetefromTn_> I had two garage door openers here that were both old and finally the last one broke.
[02:05:56] <PetefromTn_> So I took it apart and removed the steel bars from them.
[02:06:15] <PetefromTn_> Now I have a bunch of steel shaped like a T and I am trying to decide what to make out of it.
[02:06:36] <PetefromTn_> I have been thinking about making a stand for my shop fan or maybe some kinda bracket for the CNC.
[02:06:38] -!- gleapsite has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
[02:07:09] -!- gleapsite [gleapsite!~gleapsite@dpc6744192034.direcpc.com] has joined #linuxcnc
[02:07:18] <PetefromTn_> I was also thinking about making an adjustable tray that goes under my pendant to hold the industrial dust and moisture proof keyboard I use.
[02:08:06] <XXCoder> so many uses and only two steel t bars
[02:08:31] <PetefromTn_> actually it screwed together and it is more like six tee shaped bars
[02:08:35] -!- gleapsite has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
[02:09:03] <PetefromTn_> They are pretty long and of course I have a lot of other steel here to use with them.
[02:09:07] -!- gleapsite [gleapsite!~gleapsite@dpc6744192034.direcpc.com] has joined #linuxcnc
[02:09:31] <PetefromTn_> Just cannot think of anything to make with it and tired of it sitting on the floor in the shop LOL

[02:12:02] <XXCoder> HMM
[02:12:10] <XXCoder> invent 12 different ways
[02:12:17] <XXCoder> list em then roll 2 dice
[02:12:20] <XXCoder> build whatever
[02:12:47] <XXCoder> or just 6 and one die. real even chances that 2 dice dont give
[02:17:02] <toastyde1th> actually you can have any number under the maximum number of things allowed by the two dice
[02:18:24] <toastyde1th> i.e. any number of things between 1-6 for one die, and 55 things for two die
[02:18:25] -!- gleapsite has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
[02:18:29] <XXCoder> toast problem is stats wise you cant get even chance with 2 dice
[02:18:36] <toastyde1th> don't add them
[02:18:47] <XXCoder> how so?
[02:18:48] <toastyde1th> and that problem goes away - the events become independent
[02:18:59] <XXCoder> yes but how dermine?
[02:19:03] -!- gleapsite [gleapsite!~gleapsite@dpc6744192034.direcpc.com] has joined #linuxcnc
[02:19:06] <toastyde1th> basic statistics?
[02:19:27] <XXCoder> no, if dont add em together how do you dermine entry of list with 2 dice
[02:19:32] <toastyde1th> first digit, second digit
[02:19:35] <PetefromTn_> jeez man you guys are just so helpful.
[02:19:36] <XXCoder> ahh
[02:19:45] <XXCoder> yes that makes sense.
[02:19:48] <XXCoder> thanks
[02:19:51] <toastyde1th> np

[14:31:44] <PetefromTn_> WOAH that is some serious riding man.
[14:32:24] <PetefromTn_> I ride my custom built short wheelbase recumbent bike with my wife and kids on the local greenbelt sometimes.
[14:32:27] <Jymmm> Motorcycle or Bicycle?
[14:32:33] <jdh> bicycle
[14:33:23] <Jymmm> Did you stop at every red light and stop sign?
[14:34:06] <jdh> perhaps.
[14:34:26] <Jymmm> Uh huh
[14:35:10] <jdh> zero lights yesterday. very few stop signs. it is a very rural route
[14:36:28] <PetefromTn_> Thats one nice thing about our local greenbelt....there are no stopsigns or traffic lights.
[14:37:01] <Jymmm> Around here, they are notorious for running lights in semi-busy intersections, with little to no visability of cross traffic. so I have litle empathy for them.
[14:37:09] <jdh> me either.
[14:37:54] <PetefromTn_> In fact the only time you have to stop is for a single road that crosses the greenbelt and there are lots of caution signs and warnings before you get there. We usually get off and walk across.
[14:37:59] <jdh> I do whatever is safest for me. Sometimes that involves running lights to avoid the traffic rush as the light changes.
[14:38:44] <PetefromTn_> Sometimes we head up into the Great Smokies National Park and ride around the Cades Cove Loop road. Beautiful scenery there.
[14:38:55] <jdh> but, I don't just run through them, I just leave before it changes, depending on light/traffic pattern
[14:39:05] <Jymmm> Most just blow thru the light. I don't even see them loking around for crosstraddic.

[20:49:28] <asah> anyone around to check my head on AC induction motor wiring?
[20:49:43] <asah> I am hooking up my spindle to my vfd
[20:49:51] <asah> and motor has 6 wires.
[20:50:04] -!- FinboySlick [FinboySlick!~shark@squal.net] has joined #linuxcnc
[20:50:29] <asah> U1 V1 W1 and U2 V2 W2
[20:50:53] <asah> motor is labeled 380/660v
[20:51:10] <asah> and was originally setup with star start and delta run.
[20:51:29] <asah> I now am going to feed it with a VFD capable of feeding it 380V.
[20:53:42] <asah> Should I run these leads in parallel or series in my new VFD application? My inclination is to run them in series, but I am not entirely sure what the correct way to do that is.
[20:54:40] <asah> the schematics for the original mill has all three of the 2 phases(U2 V2 W2) wired together in the delta configuration.
[20:55:26] <asah> which makes sense.
[20:55:59] <asah> would love another opinion
[20:56:32] <asah> https://www.dropbox.com/s/o3seghxeooyyxf6/maho_400e_schematics_03.png?dl=0 is the original schematic setup.

[22:01:46] <archivist> asah, series/parallel are wrong for 3 phase motors, it is either Y (star) or delta, the connection cover should have the wiring diagram
[22:02:06] <archivist> but you can work it out
