[15:23:17] <XXCoder> Loetmichel: I didnt say blow when its connected
[15:23:32] <XXCoder> I said blow while its disconnected. as in not connected to luve tubes
[15:24:09] <Loetmichel> XXCoder: i meant: a clog that is pressed in by grease with a few 100 bar will probably not get losse wenn blown from the oposite side with a few bar
[15:24:29] <XXCoder> ahh well depends I guess. isnt it cone shapes all way in
[15:24:43] <R2E4> discharge pressure .3MPa, I dont call that high pressure.
[15:24:55] <Loetmichel> that sounds easy

[15:27:44] <Loetmichel> like i said, i thought of more
[15:27:54] <Loetmichel> is that lube system oil or grease?
[15:28:11] <R2E4> I can manuall supply by 5cc
[15:28:46] <R2E4> lube oil with one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lube-Automatic-Lubricator-MMXL-II-MMXLII-/141071456848?pt=BI_Control_Systems_PLCs&hash=item20d8839a50
[15:29:18] <Loetmichel> if you are worried by having air in your system: try to use the lubricating pump as a "blow free pump"
[15:29:19] <R2E4> That would take all day and a week to remove the air....lol
[15:29:49] <Loetmichel> i.e.: switch the ends of the clogged lines so that the lube pump pumps in the opposite direction
[15:30:10] -!- tjtr33 has quit [Ping timeout: 258 seconds]
[15:31:16] <Loetmichel> i have declogged a grease line on a machine by screwing a lube pint to the output, opening the input and then using a hand grease pump on the output to pump it free
[15:31:24] <R2E4> I dont know if they are clogged or not.
[15:31:42] <Loetmichel> so as i reconnected it it was filled with the samegrease as the grease pump in the machine has
[15:32:14] <R2E4> Maybe I should just blow it out using air, clould be the output jets also, that wouldnt work on that.
[15:32:52] <R2E4> Loetmichel: wouldnt that push the clog back into the lines and lubetank?
[15:33:30] <Loetmichel> R2E4: no, because i removed the line from the pump and put a bucket under the open end
[15:33:41] <Loetmichel> so i can SEE the clog when it comes out
[15:33:41] <R2E4> AH, I see
[15:37:01] <R2E4> There is a three manifold system at the lube pump. One of the lines goes on top with a 12 line manifold. I disconnected the input and gave it a 5cc releaase and I got lube coming out, so it is getting to the manifold.
[15:38:21] <R2E4> I need a solenoid that will poull the piston up and let it drop, then pull it up again. all day long, that will fill upthe lines....lol

[16:39:25] <malcom2073> I'll tell you what though, if they had spent a couple more dollars and done supported rail instead of freestanding? It would've probably been ok
[16:39:34] <somenewguy> but then I looked closer and was suprised on how slow the spindle speed was
[16:40:07] <XXCoder> forgot - wood needs like 5k - 10k rpm while alum needs like 3k rpm or less?
[16:40:26] <somenewguy> otoh, where on earth do I find 30k rpm bearings? was planning on maybe making my own spindle by shoving a ER16 spindle from taig or sherline into a custom housing
[16:40:45] <somenewguy> no, on a small scale like that, alu needs 3k-20k rpm
[16:41:28] <XXCoder> cool thats within range of router I was thinking
[16:41:33] <XXCoder> its limited to 8k - 20k
[16:41:46] <somenewguy> 1/16 endmill ideally wants 36k rpm for reference in alu
[16:42:13] <somenewguy> but your traverse rate could very well limit how high of an RPM you can effectivly use, so yougotta keep that in mind
[16:42:22] <somenewguy> 20k is probably good enough

[20:08:42] <humble_sea_bass> for the record I'd like to state that the trip from Grand Central to Niagara sucks so much ass is because CSX owns a great deal of the rails going north from Grand Central and freight takes precedence over passenger. Thanks obama and the free market

[21:44:21] <pcw_home> There are a couple of ways to do bipolar one is with PWM/DIR another with UP/DOWN PWM yet another is 50% = 0
[21:44:53] <robinsz> that I have no control over, its the PWM and direction signals coming out of a Haas
[21:45:18] <robinsz> the poxy Haas drive has shat itself (again) so I want to put a regualr AC servo on there,
[21:46:07] <robinsz> Ive got a pile of Baldor MicroFLex drives, they have an analogue +10 0 -10 interface
[21:46:11] <pcw_home> well a 7I33 or make the equivalent (paying attention the the PWM rate)
[21:46:54] <robinsz> or I could fix the haas drive
[21:47:02] * robinsz stares at pile of the poxy things
[21:47:07] <pcw_home> what is the PWM rate? (If low that may be problematic with a analog solution)
[21:47:23] <robinsz> no clue
[21:47:50] <robinsz> but, its done analogue on the original drive
[21:48:21] -!- pilsna has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
[21:48:52] <robinsz> getting a clue would involve dragging a scope into the machine shop and wading past the coolant pit
[21:49:37] <pcw_home> tiny frequency counter maybe
[21:49:49] <robinsz> not got
[21:50:26] <robinsz> I suppose I could trace out the circuit on the drive

[21:54:43] <pcw_home> headphone to see if its in the audible range?
[21:55:54] <robinsz> part of the trouble is that without a working drive, the machine wont wake up and say hi
[21:56:35] <pcw_home> what does it need from the drive?
[21:56:51] <robinsz> not sure, some sort of "drive OK" signal
[21:57:12] <robinsz> and even if I did fake that, it doesnt help
[21:57:26] <robinsz> as it will throw a following error very quickly
[21:57:41] <robinsz> I suppose I might get a few pulses out of it
[21:58:51] <pcw_home> You will have to generate the drive OK somehow anyway if you replace the PWM drive
[22:01:31] <robinsz> sigh ... poxy haas

[22:03:25] <robinsz> I was thinking of using some IGBT's instead of TO3 mosfets
[22:03:26] <pcw_home> power stage blown?
[22:03:33] <robinsz> yeah
[22:03:39] <robinsz> fet goes pop
[22:03:51] <robinsz> other stuff commits suicide with it
