[16:12:27] <Connor> Okay, I need to drill 4 holes in the end of a cylinder. (only 3" tall). They equally spaced and should be on a 3.5" diameter. I'm thinking of clamping the cylinder to the table directly with a clamp through the middle. whats the best way to indicate the very center of it ?
[16:12:42] <tjb1> Using a caliper to mark bluing…moron
[16:13:18] <tjb1> Are you putting the cylinder on its side?
[16:13:24] <Connor> No.
[16:13:35] <Connor> not cross drilling.
[16:13:44] <Connor> drilling the END of it.
[16:14:02] <Connor> I'll have to use a edge finder..
[16:14:29] <Connor> tjb1: And for the record, I don't appreciate being called a moron. That's not very nice.

[16:16:31] <tjb1> Apparently Connor
[16:16:43] <mrsun> how do you figure? :)

[17:05:17] <IchGuckLive> hardik: then you can use a PROXXON as well
[17:05:29] <hardik> whats a PROXXON?
[17:05:41] <IchGuckLive> at the spindel prices from Huanyung its not worth to do it yourself

[17:06:32] <hardik> i'm just cutting sheets of fiberglass
[17:06:43] <hardik> using endmills no bigger than 1/8"
[17:06:59] <hardik> most of my cutting would be with 1/16 or smaller
[17:07:02] <IchGuckLive> then the Proxxon is best for you
[17:07:09] <archivist> hardik, I have seen a couple of homebrew spindles done like that
[17:07:22] <IchGuckLive> hardik: http://www.proxxon.com/eng/html/28481.php
