[00:49:29] <A2Sheds> about the same, the electronics shops are in Akihabara
[00:49:37] <A2Sheds> ah and he's gone already
[00:54:19] <Jymmm> Costco in .jp, that's pretty sad imo
[00:55:05] <FinboySlick> A2Sheds: This is so laborious...
[00:55:13] <A2Sheds> there's about 1 millions other things to do and see there first
[00:55:20] <A2Sheds> -s
[00:55:42] <FinboySlick> Every time I think I've got the thing working, there's this little extra compile error.
[00:55:55] <FinboySlick> I'm fixing mesa now of all things.
[00:56:36] <Jymmm> A2Sheds: Like having a nice authentic Italian spaghetti and meatball dinner in Tokyo/Oska for $250 USD
[00:56:45] <Jymmm> Osaka
[00:57:04] <Jymmm> (seriously)
[00:57:09] <FinboySlick> Meatuballzu...
[00:57:13] <A2Sheds> the cab ride from the airport to the hotel is $250 as well
[00:57:38] <Jymmm> yen?
[00:57:50] <A2Sheds> I usually stick to local foods when I'm there
[00:58:02] <A2Sheds> 25,000 yen
[00:58:15] <Jymmm> which is about what in USD ?
[00:58:48] <Jymmm> 324
[00:58:49] <A2Sheds> $250-300 depending on where the USD is
[01:00:06] <Jymmm> were you seriosus about the cab ride?
[01:00:15] <A2Sheds> IIRC Narita to Shinjuku or near is 22,000 yen
[01:00:21] <A2Sheds> yeah
[01:00:25] <Jymmm> fuck me
[01:00:46] <Jymmm> But they have 24/7 public transportation too, dont they?
[01:00:52] <Jymmm> train, bus, etc
[01:00:59] <A2Sheds> airport limo/bus is ~ $70 usd/person
[01:01:12] <Jymmm> ah
[01:01:39] <A2Sheds> the train is a bit less, but then you have to get from the train station to your hotel
[01:01:59] <Jymmm> heh
[01:02:14] <A2Sheds> if you stay in Shinjuku you can walk
[01:02:28] <A2Sheds> I love Tokyo
[01:04:23] <A2Sheds> everybody always talks about the pricey western meals or food, but I've always found anything I wanted for there about the same price as here

[04:20:25] <toastyde1th> g52, iirc, is local work shift
[04:20:42] <toastyde1th> on milling machines, anyway
[04:21:04] <toastyde1th> g51 is cancel shift
[04:21:17] <toastyde1th> but it's been a long ass time since i've used g52
[04:21:19] <Tom_itx> similar to G54..59Z?
[04:21:25] <Tom_itx> 9
[04:21:27] <toastyde1th> no, it adds to it
[04:21:32] <Tom_itx> mmmm
[04:21:36] <Tom_itx> don't want that then
[04:21:39] <toastyde1th> in g54, say
[04:21:55] <toastyde1th> you enter "g52 x4 y4" and it rezeroes inside the g54 system at 4,4
[04:22:05] <toastyde1th> then when you hit g51 it cancels that and goes back to the old system
[04:22:13] <Tom_itx> i'm trying to fix my template file but i've not worked on one for a long time
[04:22:37] <Tom_itx> so it puts out the work offset in the code automatically
[04:23:04] <Tom_itx> i get the G54 but the others won't show up so i gotta go dig out my book if i can find it
[04:24:34] <Tom_itx> i'm really just messin around a bit learning stuff with it i never used
[04:24:55] <toastyde1th> g52 might also be macros, but for some reason i don't think that's right

[19:31:57] <FinboySlick> Hmmm... With better steel and some sort of crowbar bit in it, it'd be pretty cool.
[19:32:19] <Jymmm> Well, the handle would need to be longer
[19:32:45] <Jymmm> I do like the idea though
[19:32:48] <FinboySlick> Jymmm: Well, mostly just to remove the nails that are inevitably going to go in crooked.
[19:33:14] <FinboySlick> hehe, don't look too close while you nail though, you might get an axe to the face.

[21:01:42] <FinboySlick> I think the nanny state hasn't quite extended its tentacles to where that thing is made.
[21:02:13] <FinboySlick> It doesn't even have a 4"x8" sticker saying: Warning: blade of knife is sharp and can cut you.
[21:02:56] <Jymmm> FinboySlick: There's no need for that, the handle will surely split in half long before you actually get to use the tools

[22:30:26] <andypugh> I am trying to help somebody offline with setting up EMC2. Am I right in thinking that this Motherboard spec (
http://pastebin.com/UNYaRaKr ) will not work well with the current kernel (uniprocessor, no LAPIC)
[22:33:46] <FinboySlick> andypugh: I'm pretty sure the current livecd expects a local APIC, won't work without it.
[22:34:12] <FinboySlick> andypugh: RTAI should work without a local apic, but you'd need to build a kernel accordingly.
[22:34:54] <andypugh> It's probably easier for them to run the old LiveCD and upgrade the EMC2 version.
[22:35:20] <FinboySlick> andypugh: The old livecd worked without a local APIC?
[22:35:58] <andypugh> I think so. But it could only ever use one CPU.
