its an absolute necessity ,everything will turn on when the computer turns on if you dont have 1
Yeah, I understand, I'm also incorporating manual overrides too
ah shit... one more aspect to toss on the drawing board I forgot about =)
i just got thru seeing it first hand, its worth every penny
ok, good to know. One of my pet peeves is maintaing the isolation yet not incorporating the necessary power supplies, cheating by using USB power from pc. I want one cable from PC to controller box, not a a bunch of them
the campbell board only has 1 cable, uses 110 or 220 and provides all the isolated power for everything
Yeah, I noticed that =)
even prox switches
i just got thru putting 1 in,gonna order one for me now
* fenn hands jymmm a solar panel
opto-isolated power supply :D
I'll have to read more on it. I needed about 13A peak on relay contact, but it looks like nobody actually offers that, will still have to use external SSR's, oh well.
I limit use of solar panels to comms gear though =)
still looking for a nice controller for it though...
Hmmmm solar powered bridge ports ;)

hmm - not a hunter - but atleast 2 I think
They are talking maybe next year will be earn a buck. (have to shoot a doe before you can shoot a buck)
we have buck hunts only.. or the loterry for does...
as dad always said... Throw another log on the fire..... make some warm...
or lay on the thermostat. there's more diesel fuel where that came from...:-D
we also had an oil burnin' forced air system...
skunkworks: send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org i have a fish story to show you
i got the walmart gOS pc running the newest live cd, and the latency reporter is running, how do i aggravate it?
pound on some applications
wasnt there a particular opengl app?
probably... but i dont know it...
how new is your cd??? ver??
2.2.1emc just dloaded it with this sys and burned with this sys to test that part
initial max is 13276 ( hit with file browser )
i have no scale to measure it against
i cant help...
glxgears is less, at 11488 this is with stock box, so onboard vid

how to find the culpret?
same with/without glxgears, something changed and stuck
i can monitor from this box....
is it reasonable to run latency tests on a live-cd session?
my experience with live-cd anything is that it isn't representative at all of what an installed system will do
try try again
blowed up again after glxgears, will try a matrox pci another day

how would we tell?
i'm not sure.
glad to hear that the wal-mart box worked, but i doubt it will stay the same hardware even if it comes in the same box
oh he left.
does anyone know if such a thing exists as an "adjustable parallel" where you have two angled plates that slide against each other to provide a variable height block?
all the ones i see have teeth in them, so you can't adjust it perfectly
they are, ironically, called "adjustable parallels"
i have a set of them.
and you can, say, put a workpiece on them to be bored out on a lathe?
uh, they're tiny things
also i don't really know what you're asking
the usual way to do this is with blocks and shims, but it seems fiddly, that's all
[05:37:26] <toastydeath> http://contractorstools.com/starrett_rules_154.html
i'm thinking something much fatter and block-like
perhaps with bolt-holes in it like a 123 block
if those exist, they're not a common item at all
yeah if you have to do this stuff you just get a jig borer...
planer gauge looks sorta right: www.wisc-online.com/ objects/MTL3902/MLT3902.htm
[05:42:27] <fenn> http://www.wisc-online.com/objects/MTL3902/MLT3902.htm
i have a planer gauge too
definately not for workholding
it's essentially a transfer only device
it doesn't set hard at all
how can this possibly work? :\ http://www.sherline.com/images/2000pic.jpg
hello! does anyone want to help me? I am thinking about installing emc2 on a laptop I just installed gutsy on...
when it says 'experimental' in the wiki what does that mean exactly?
wholepair: it means there hasn't been any significant effort to make sure that it actually works
apparently sometimes it will hang, and there was a problem with opengl showing through windows in places it wasnt supposed to
fenn: well, I think I will just try it out for fun - if it doesn't work I will switch to ubuntu 6.06 - I got a new laptop I want to switch my mill over too - Dell INSPIRON P4 1.8

The_Ball: how goes it?
well - I get to buy $1k worth of closed cell foam tonight
is pastebin working for yall
jlmjvm: pastebin.ca is slow to load or down. pastebin.com seems to load at the moment.
skunkworks: building an airplane?
heh - no. Isulating footings and floor of a garage
[20:26:15] <jlmjvm> http://pastebin.com/d22af355e
jepler:is there any way to link the button to the print command
i can do a F5 in idle and it prints, just want the button to do the print
jlmjvm: yes. you make a function with def that does the action or sequence of actions you want, and then make that function be the command= of the button.
[20:31:05] <jepler> http://pastebin.com/m2c2f224f
jepler:that works ,check it out
[21:01:44] <jlmjvm_> http://pastebin.com/d4edb6ef5
jlmjvm_: in this case you'd want to s.poll() so that you have the latest idea of position
doesnt it have s.poll() in there?
inside the 'def', you should s.poll()
all the information in s is from whenever .poll() was last called
having no luck with s.poll
what i pasted last works, but it has to be restarted if you want to use button again, like its good for one shot
also had to remove this line root.mainloop()
you're doing something wrong, but since you haven't shown me the code, or the error (if you're getting one) or said specifically what behavior you're getting, I would be engaging in pure speculation if I tried to guess.
will send error

03cradek 07w_tool_length * 10emc2/src/emc/nml_intf/canon.hh: canned cycles in uv, vw, wu planes
says python shell is already executing a command;please wait untill its finished
thats after you hit the button once, then move, and hit again. this has the root.mainloop() in it
03cradek 07w_tool_length * 10emc2/configs/5axis/ (5axis_sim.hal 5axis.ini): need u,v loopbacks - kins currently ignores them
[21:43:00] <jlmjvm_> http://pastebin.com/d4fd4c8ec
then after you hit ok twice it gives this
this error is from idle, a program I don't use. perhaps you've encountered an error in it. AttributeError: ModifiedInterpreter instance has no attribute 'interp'
I always test my python programs from the terminal: python whatever.py
what do you use?
I always test my python programs from the terminal: python whatever.py
just saw that
will give that a shot
it seems to hang in terminal, doesnt give you the command prompt back
that is exactly what I would expect, if the program ends with .mainloop() (as it should)
when you close the window the program creates, you should then get your terminal prompt back.
yes,thats what it does
so is that working correctly then?
yes, that is how a standard unix program behaves: until it exits, the shell prompt is not shown in the terminal
anyone ever have to make a semiround peice, kind of like a split log?
ds2: a d-bit?
but it would look like a D bit
easy with a mill..
trying to make a mold to form some plastic sheets
doh.. need to help someone, bb
my cat smells like mold and its rubbing on me :(
or you could bolt two blocks together and turn them together on a lathe
I made a piece like that recently - I just milled a flat. Is that all you're talking about?
pvc pipe cut in half
jepler:i got the s.poll working
