[02:39:44] <paul_c> Yeeha... Nearly ready to try compiling EMC on a 2.6 kernel !
[02:40:13] <tbl> why would be the appropriate question!
[02:40:45] <paul_c> 'cos I can.
[02:42:56] <paul_c> There are things I want to do with the code... And one of the side effects allows for it to be compiled on a 2.6 kernel.
[03:19:40] <paul_c> Who the HELL is "Nancy Weber-Zehren" ?
[05:12:48] <tbl0ish> tbl0ish is now known as tbl
[05:44:41] <paul_c> Hi acemi
[05:44:58] <paul_c> Something I said ?
[06:07:31] <picnet> Evening.
[06:14:44] <paul_c> Good evening picnet
[06:15:26] <picnet> hi
[06:15:51] <picnet> have you seen qemu's ability to boot and compile and then run that compiled kernel?
[06:16:01] <picnet> handy for testing no doubt...
[06:16:26] <picnet> tccboot was on slashdot today.
[06:16:37] <picnet> http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/tcc/tccboot.html
[06:17:39] <paul_c> * paul_c has been using qemu
[06:18:19] <picnet> ive been playing with it the last couple of days, mainly to boot damnsmall linux from a usbstick from windows (dont ask laptop i have has all boot options locked...)
[06:21:29] <paul_c> tccboot requires kernel patching I see...
[06:23:34] <picnet> im fiddling trying to get the usbdrive to boot natively into dsl or from qemu under winblows, eitherway i'll have an os+data in my pocket - handy that.
[06:24:12] <paul_c> The Live CDs are handy for that.
[06:26:37] <picnet> if the laptop has no cdrom, or cannot start from a boot device other than its hdd, usb is a vaiable but slow alternative.
[06:27:09] <picnet> gknoppix wont boot on qemu, at least i tried that.
[06:29:09] <paul_c> The last Morphix CD I tried booted OK
[06:29:39] <picnet> dsl does, i'll try it again, screen in corrupt so maybe it needs a hint..
[06:31:19] <paul_c> back after a reboot (may be..)
[06:31:26] <picnet> k
[06:37:01] <picnet> wb
[06:40:14] <paul_c> looking good..
