[01:44:39] <seb_kuzminsky> jepler: that reminds me of an old CS joke:
[01:44:59] <seb_kuzminsky> you can either make your program so simple that there are obviously no bugs, or you can make it so complex that there are no obvious bugs
[01:45:15] <seb_kuzminsky> task is in the second category

[09:15:58] <trasz_> okay.
[09:16:04] <trasz_> most of the tests actually pass now :-)
[09:16:27] <trasz_> most of the failing ones are due to: test.hal:1: HAL_LIB: Cannot run 'setexact' after a thread has been created

[11:54:29] <trasz_> oh god, the coordinate system.
[12:11:13] <jepler> trasz_: that's quick progress. as you get it tidied up, I look forward to more pull requets from you.

[14:10:48] <cradek> what does latency-test tell you on freebsd? it would be really exciting if it was good enough to run hardware.
[14:17:17] -!- kwallace1 [kwallace1!~kwallace@162.222.30.254] has joined #linuxcnc-devel
[14:19:14] -!- rob_h [rob_h!~R@97e42a64.skybroadband.com] has joined #linuxcnc-devel

[14:21:34] <skunkworks> I don't have any fonts
[14:22:01] <cradek> http://timeguy.com/cradek-files/emc/fengrave-package-vcarve-r.png
[14:22:29] <cradek> I had to point it to a directory under /usr/share/fonts/... in some preference somewhere before those showed up in "Font Files"
[14:23:24] <skunkworks> ah - I think I was almost there

[15:44:30] <jepler> trasz_: no, all the tests consistently pass on linux uspace
[15:45:17] <jepler> trasz_: my suspicion is something in the cleanup of rtapi_app is not happening, which makes a subsequent test think the previous test was still going. the flag that setexact tickles is somewhere in a shared memory area, so if that's not getting cleaned up it seems like the most likely cause

[19:13:49] <cradek> but how...?
[19:15:03] -linuxcnc-github:#linuxcnc-devel- [13linuxcnc] 15jepler commented on issue #66: OK, I think that's everything, though I worked by cherry-picking instead of merging so the refs are different and GH doesn't know it. If you agree, can you close up this PR and open a new one the next time you have some work ready for review/inclusion? 02https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/pull/66#issuecomment-225454886
[19:15:19] <cradek> in that latest, Edward is inconsistent about #include "" vs <> for rtapi_math. does it matter?
[19:16:48] <jepler> cradek: we are inconsistent about it all over. I prefer <>-inclusion for any header which we put in our public APIs, so that would include rtapi_math.h
[19:17:55] <jepler> linuxcnc-build_: force build --branch=sleepybishop-max31855 0000.checkin

[19:52:26] <trasz_> jepler: about the cleanup, i mean.
[19:52:36] <trasz_> jepler: now, this stuff lives in a sysv shared memory segment, right?
[19:52:49] <trasz_> jepler: shouldn't this segment get destroyed when rtapi_app exits?
