[02:09:01] <kwallace_shiz> cradek, "so you got a bunch that are fine ^^^" I got three MPGs. One has a nice detent feel, the second has a nice feel but is a tad light, the third had a light double detent which turned out to have a completely worn roller. There is too much grease in the second to see any wear and it works so I may just leave it for now. I'll probably make a few rollers and tape one inside each MPG.
[02:11:02] <kwallace_shiz> I have some drill rod on the material rack which I plan on using, but I'll leave the rollers unhardened to protect the rotor teeth.

[02:30:43] <jepler> hm. bug or feature? hm2_eth counts cards from 0, so if you configure 3 cards you can get e.g., hm2_7i80.0 hm2_7i80.1, hm2_7i92.2 instead of hm2_7i92.0.
[02:33:24] <mozmck> can the numbering change based on the switch port it's on?
[02:34:28] <jepler> no, it's based on loadrt board_ip= ordering
[02:34:49] <mozmck> ok
[02:35:06] <jepler> loadrt hm2_eth config="num_encoders=1 num_pwmgens=1 num_stepgens=1 enable_raw=1,enable_raw=1" board_ip=192.168.1.123,192.168.1.122,192.168.1.121
[02:35:37] <jepler> in my case, .123 is a 7i80hd, .122 is a 7i90db (or maybe vice versa) and .121 is a 7i92
[02:35:51] <mozmck> So does the config string apply to all boards?
[02:35:58] -!- AR_ has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
[02:36:11] <jepler> no
[02:36:18] <jepler> the first board gets num_encoders=1 num_pwmgens=1 num_stepgens=1 enable_raw=1
[02:36:23] <jepler> the second one gets just enable_raw=1
[02:36:26] <jepler> and the third board gets nothing
[02:36:41] <mozmck> ah, I missed the comma.

[13:17:58] <lair82> Good Morning Guys, I am having problems on my machine, last week we started noticing that when we would try to load a program, there would be nothing in the nc_files folder, when there are over 100 programs. I would shut Linuxcnc down, and there would be zero icons on the desktop, not my shortcut link start linuxcnc, none of the folders that would normally be there, nothing. I would manually shut the pc down, with the pushbutto
[13:18:35] <lair82> about 10 seconds, and it wouldn't boot linux, it would just go to the bios for the MB.

[18:01:47] <bjmorel_work> micges: Perfect, thanks. I do need 2.7 correct?
[18:02:11] <mozmck> skunkworks: thanks. I don't keep up with all the forums and lists - takes too much time!
[18:02:11] <micges> yes
[18:02:14] Loetmichel2 is now known as Loetmichel
[18:03:51] <bjmorel_work> Also, does it matter if I use an RT-Preempt kernel or the default RT kernel that ships on the live cd ?
[18:03:52] <mozmck> skunkworks: It actually works pretty well, but the M10/M11 issue he mentioned is a bit of a problem because of time delays.
[18:04:10] <mozmck> bjmorel_work: you have to use RT-Preempt.

[23:34:47] <Gurwinder_> Hi, I am Gurwinder. Now for GSoC Post mid term, I am going work on linuxcnc.
[23:36:45] <Gurwinder_> In past I with Chris morley have discussed on many required work on linuxcnc but due to lack of knowledge I was not able to work on those projects.
[23:37:21] <Gurwinder_> But Morley and I was working on stepconf help button.
[23:38:35] <Gurwinder_> For it I have to learn python. So, learnt all the basics of pyhthon and now able to understand whats going on in python file.
[23:39:54] <Gurwinder_> So, want to discuss about it for GSoC
