[13:23:17] <cradek> mhaberler: yay, glad you found it. I realized too late that I didn't include my tc ngc.
[13:24:31] <mhaberler> wasnt needed - I fixed the segfault (a 'duh') ; still chasing the other (non-execution of ngc file on second m6; some trivial state assumption violated I guess)
[13:25:07] <cradek> seems like not executing on t0 may or may not be a bug?
[13:26:03] <mhaberler> no; it happens without Tx as well; what happens is that the first remapped M6 leaves some field in the remap stack hanging around and the second remap trips on it
[13:27:07] <mhaberler> gdb watchpoint to the rescue..
[13:27:50] <JT-Shop> cradek: do you know if 2.5/docs/UPDATING is used for anything? iirc the last entry was for 2.2 to 2.3
[13:29:51] <cradek> sorry, I don't know
[13:30:33] <JT-Shop> ok

[14:27:35] -!- Valen has quit [Quit: Leaving.]
[14:32:13] <mhaberler> cradek: the recursive M6 is fixed (or so he said). pls fetch and build
[14:33:10] <mhaberler> the issue was: the decision to remap or not needs to be taken earlier, namely during parsing - at execution time its too late because the remap machinery already has been cut loose
[14:33:34] <mhaberler> this is unchartered territory for me - please be patient
[14:33:45] <mhaberler> I guess I nailed it though
[14:38:28] <cradek> mhaberler: thanks, I probably won't have time to test tonight, but will this weekend at latest
[14:38:35] <mhaberler> sure
[14:38:56] <cradek> I sure like the auto-probe capability
[14:39:10] <cradek> if it seems to be working how do you feel about putting it in master?
[14:39:27] <mhaberler> that was the right question ;-)
[14:39:49] <mhaberler> it is a LOT of changes
[14:39:55] <cradek> yes
[14:41:03] <mhaberler> I would like to prod for review; in particular, the Python milltask plugin is 'exercised by mah only' so far, but it is disabled by default
[14:41:38] <mhaberler> so it does no harm, and if somebody comes around to give some feedback - fine
[14:43:08] <mhaberler> re manual. this needs to be split into 'toolchange for the masses' and 'all the rest you dont want to read about'
[14:43:37] <mhaberler> but that can happen as we go, as happened with the gladevcp manual
[14:45:10] <mhaberler> I will prowl for review victims.
[14:47:04] <cradek> heh ok
[14:47:54] <mhaberler> actually Norbert Schechner has been running an earlier version on his Heckler&Koch BA 20 for a while, and he's still alive;)
[14:51:25] <mhaberler> cradek: when you get the autoprobe working please drop me a copy so I can put it into examples - higher chance for correctness
[14:51:35] <mhaberler> of the ngc file I mean
[14:51:39] <cradek> ok
[14:55:17] <Jymmm> If you need a test machine... http://www.cncsave.com/listings/84.htm
[14:56:58] <mhaberler> actually Norbert has a spare which he offered to me; but the tooling is a killer$$$ and I guess the pole hog down the street does not agree either ;-)
[14:57:26] <Jymmm> heh
[14:58:02] -!- theos has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
[14:58:29] <Jymmm> mhaberler: You mentioned H&K, and I got excited. But it was the wrong H&K "product line" =)
[14:58:55] <mhaberler> yep, they make all sorts of 'precision mechanics'
[14:59:20] <Jymmm> mhaberler: I prefer the "hand held" ones =)
[14:59:46] <mhaberler> sounds like you're a 'user'
[15:00:19] <Jymmm> mhaberler: I try, but in Calif, well, you know.
[15:00:51] <mhaberler> I know. Berkeley, where both LSD and TCL were invented.
[15:00:58] <mhaberler> not a coincidence
[15:01:09] <Jymmm> and BSD too
[15:02:41] <Jymmm> mhaberler: But, our gubenor has signed into law as of 1/1/2012, no more open carry. *heavy sigh* just waiting till they serialized rounds that have to be registerd

[18:05:59] <kirk_wallace> JT-Shop: Is there an automated process that creates man pages and HTML pages? Are they independent?
[18:07:06] <JT-Shop> afaik it is automated to create man pages from comp descriptions and the HTML listing at the bottom is also created from the man pages
[18:12:19] <kirk_wallace> I guess I need to do some more research, but if I limit myself to man pages, all I need to do is pull up the man page or comp file, update and pass my local git commit to you?
[18:13:20] <JT-Shop> you create a patch and e-mail that to me
[18:13:39] <JT-Shop> maybe I need to write up some instructions for you
[18:14:46] <JT-Shop> these are the only hand written man pages http://git.linuxcnc.org/gitweb?p=emc2.git;a=tree;f=docs/man/man1;h=a0e63a86de6b608bd06a9f95324c6b30fe1c4d13;hb=HEAD
[18:15:35] <JT-Shop> well and these http://git.linuxcnc.org/gitweb?p=emc2.git;a=tree;f=docs/man/man9;h=c9c9aa7b3cad08a078201db30a0bdffe37942d8e;hb=HEAD
[18:15:57] <kirk_wallace> Only if you want. I think the process will make itself known when I give it a try. I'll just remember to do a patch.
