[19:12:17] <jepler> at a minimum, if something is in the current release X but we want to remove it, then we put a note in the documentation of X+1 and remove in X+2
[19:12:39] <jepler> in practice, the removal step actually waits until there's a hardship identified in keeping the feature

[19:15:01] <jepler> 2.5 isn't out yet, so there's still time to note that it is deprecated, if we have hopes of removing it as early as 2.6..
