Seems like I've heard someone on here mention using Dreamhost, is that a pretty good hosting service?
*I* would say no.
What are planning on hosting? and dont just say a website
* Jymmm pokes mozmck with a ss pipe
mozmck: linuxcnc.org is hosted by dreamhost. feel free to draw any conclusions you like from that fact.
I chose them for another project (hosting almost exclusively static html and jpegs) based on the lowish price and unixh ssh access; price was much more important than speed or reliability
logger drops out is that a bot fault or dreamhost
personally I wouldn't choose to run the logger on dreamhost. it is probably against the rules of their non-private-server services.

oops, had to go away for a few minutes.
Seems like linuxcnc.org is pretty reliable.
I just want a personal/project (banjos, programming, airplanes) site.
do you get space with your normal isp account
I don't think so, let me check...
I don't see any mention of it.

Hmm, found a 1.95 promo for dreamhost so I'm giving them a try!
I have used hostdime and hasweb. (acutally hasweb is a sub of hostdime) I pay $48 a year for my hsoting
I just signed up with dreamhost for 2 years for $46.80.
KimK: how is it going?
