[02:06:19] <skunkworks_> I thought I would throw that out there - I will try to get more data
[02:07:04] <jmkasunich> throw what?
[02:07:50] <skunkworks_> oh - did my paragraph of ramblings not get sent?
[02:08:07] <jmkasunich> I don't see any ramblings - where? here, the list?
[02:08:14] <skunkworks_> here
[02:08:20] <skunkworks_> hold on
[02:09:27] <skunkworks_> odd issue.. I have 2 programs (top and bottom circuit board.) Top is run in g55 and bottom is run g56. when I run the first program - I measure and touchoff z for the hight I need. (using g55 from the touchoff dialog box). This works just fine. Now - when I go to do the back side (g56) I do the same thing - measure z - in the touchoff dialog box I select the g56 offset. Now this is the 3rd time that the cutter has gone thru
[02:09:47] <skunkworks_> logger_dev: bookmark
[02:09:48] <skunkworks_> Just this once .. here's the log: http://www.linuxcnc.org/irc/irc.freenode.net:6667/emcdevel/2008-12-28.txt
[02:10:40] <skunkworks_> huh - that was odd..

[02:13:41] <jmkasunich> huh
[02:13:47] <jmkasunich> did the logger see it?
[02:13:56] <jmkasunich> (I saw it the second time)
[02:14:11] <skunkworks_> no
[02:14:38] <skunkworks_> logger saw it the second time

[03:59:12] <cradek> were you using g43 on one or both sides?
[04:21:24] <cradek> skunkworks_: ^
[04:28:38] <skunkworks_> cradek: this is generated from the gcode script. g43.1
[04:29:01] <skunkworks_> Is that where I am getting messed up? the tool length is not getting reset?
[04:29:07] <cradek> oh you're probing for length?
[04:29:24] <skunkworks_> yes
[04:29:41] <skunkworks_> manually setting the tool length for the first tool
[04:30:14] <skunkworks_> physically measuring it with a shaper gauge.
[04:31:29] <cradek> when you flip the board which things do you reset? I'm confused as to really what you're doing
[04:34:32] <skunkworks_> when I flip the board - I usually set the coordinate system to g56 (for the back side) then I jog it to x0y0 to measure z. measure z - touchoff z and set the touchoff dialog box to g56. then run the program.
[04:35:15] <cradek> do you program g49 before touching off Z after the flip?
[04:36:29] <skunkworks_> that is my problem then.. :)
[04:36:51] <cradek> possibly
[04:37:27] <cradek> I think to measure the new 'reference tool' you can't have a tool offset in effect
[04:37:51] <skunkworks_> I bet so - the end of the first side doesn't end with a g49
[04:39:43] <skunkworks_> so I touch off my z axis - then run 2nd side. the start of the second side has a g49 right at the begining which screws up my touchoff I bet.
[04:40:19] <cradek> yeah I bet so
[04:40:58] <skunkworks_> duh
[04:54:42] <skunkworks_> Success!!!
[04:54:48] <cradek> yayy
[19:55:14] <alex_joni_> alex_joni_ is now known as alex_joni
