Maybe this will help?
Don't you love the line, "when you boot your computer next time..."
install the drivers and then reboot.
p15 of your card's manual
How you doing today?
it's friday... so it can't be all bad./

Getting better. Impatient to get back to work.
I bet :)
I've got that same 8255 chip on a couple of Bsoft 48 IO cards in a box someplace.
But it was ISA so pretty easy to talk to.
yah - sounds like it is a tiger chip issue
I remember that I had a bitch of a time with the pci card trying to configure the ABC ports for in or out.
I think I've still got it around here someplace. I should dig it out and try to follow your work.
It was just 24 IO.
my work? I am just a user.. :) jepler had been the one fighting with it.

Right but it seems like I talked with prof jasper years ago and he was some help.
The problem I had back then was initialization
Would it help if I tried one of our drivers on a dio24 card or is there such an animal.
the only hardware this driver I'm trying to debug will work on is the futurlec 8255 card with Tiger320 PCI bridge. I think it's unique in the world.
and sounds like we're lucky for that
