cradek: is the tp change for backporting?
hi jeff, g'morning
what time is it there?
* alex_joni tries to figure out 1100CDT
ok, so roughly 3 hours ;)
a little bit less
right 20 mins
ok.. thanks a lot
what are you doing up so early?
I dunno, I woke up and didn't feel as though I'd fall asleep again
I'm still sleepy
was up till 5 again
argh, there's still a speed-after-abort issue
no, forget it, I had my feed override slider turned down to 10%
rtapi_print_msg(RTAPI_MSG_DBG, "EMC_SPINDLE_INCREASE %f RPM\n",
I don't think the uselessness of the "spindle speed increase" button is axis' fault
there is a number but it's ignored
that's interesting, obviously nobody uses those buttons
jepler: right now, it's for testing, but almost surely for backporting, I think the results are very good unless we find something bogus it does
the circles on elm320 still sound bad, but I think they're ridiculously short segments. tick-tick-tick-tick
jepler: what's wrong with that speed++ ?
alex_joni: in manual mode, adjust the spindle to around 1000 RPM
jepler: MDI, S1000 ?
alex_joni: no, I mean in manual mode.
alex_joni: I want to turn the spindle on to 1000 RPMs and then do a manual jog
alex_joni: you can'd do what you suggest (MDI to set the spindle) but that's not exactly what I'm interested in talking about.
alex_joni: the +, - buttons are useless when they change by 1RPM per click
right, I agree
they should keep changing while you keep pressed
fenn-fest: how's it going in Galesburg?
seems pretty quiet today
did cradek and jepler do any more work on threading?
or display a lathe doing threading?
yes we've been watching it do 1/4-20 threads all week
also used an encoder as a jog wheel
did you take a lot of pictures again this year?
the edm machine we were going to be playing with had a burned out motion controller and the guy gave up on it
mazak toolchanger is either almost working or working
i didnt take so many pictures
i've been doing some lost-foam casting demonstrations
was the weather better, this time around?
its pretty nice now
here's the mazak's first test part: http://fenn.freeshell.org/retrofest/SUNP0028.JPG
