[22:24:03] <andypugh> Mjolinor: It might not be that simple. depending on the exact shape of the speed/torque curve you might get lower torque with lower gearing and gain enough speed to actually be faster. Or not.

[22:25:20] <Mjolinor> but I just looked, removing the gear is not an option as hte stepper motor diameter is greater than my headstock gear
[22:25:35] <Mjolinor> and I need a hole through the middle as it is to wind long coils on a flexible core
[22:25:58] <Mjolinor> so its looking like 33 minutes for 1000 turns, thats not exactly a produciton machine :)
