[15:50:37] <JT-Shop> jepler: got Beer?
[15:51:12] <jepler> JT-Shop: not on work hours.
[15:51:43] <JT-Shop> I mean the batch you brewed the other day
[15:51:51] <jepler> JT-Shop: the rye is still waiting on bottling. Maybe this weekend if it works for a friend of mine to come over and help
[15:52:23] <JT-Shop> do you carbonate in the bottle?
[15:52:23] <jepler> it'll have been in the secondary for a week tomorrow
[15:52:42] <JT-Shop> cool
[15:53:01] <jepler> yes, I bottle carbonate. I have stayed away from kegging systems in part because it's harder to give away the beer then.
[15:53:11] <JT-Shop> I finally got my rig out and did a basic equipment check and cleaning yesterday
[15:53:43] <archivist> give away....just drink it....hic
[15:53:49] <JT-Shop> I fill bottles from the Corney keg after they are carbonated
[15:54:21] <JT-Shop> if you use a 10' hose and a $1.99 party tap no foaming when you fill

[15:57:24] <JT-Shop> yes, so the pressure drop is gradual

[15:58:37] <jepler> what are you planning to brew?
[16:00:24] <JT-Shop> I'm thinking a Hefeweizen first
[16:00:54] <jepler> I like that style
[16:02:11] <JT-Shop> maybe a Witbier next then a Kolsch
[16:02:30] <JT-Shop> those are my favorite three styles

[20:48:44] <jepler> I'm disappointed that google doesn't decode morse code when you enter it as a search term
[20:51:13] <kb8wmc> jepler, it was merely "hello" to ve7it
[20:52:16] <kb8wmc> jepler: I have a question you might have an answer to
[20:53:31] <jepler> ok.
[20:53:56] <kb8wmc> I am using some code that was created by Sammel Lothar for creating a pocket, and am trying to modify it to place in ngcgui, I have amended it to conform as best I can but receive varying errors
[20:54:27] <kb8wmc> what should I be looking for when I receive an error message "Too many subroutine levels"?
[20:56:05] <jepler> when a subroutine calls another subroutine, it is a "subroutine level"
[20:56:09] <kb8wmc> I have thus far managed to work my way through several other errors and correct them...
[20:56:21] <jepler> there's some arbitrary limit to the number of levels (I don't know what it is)
[20:56:29] <jepler> your program could be so complex that it exceeds this limit
[20:56:30] <kb8wmc> rgr that....
[20:56:43] <kb8wmc> ok....
[20:56:43] <jepler> or it could accidentally be creating more "subroutine levels" than you intended
[20:56:49] <jepler> for instance, this program will show that message:
[20:56:49] <jepler> O100 sub
[20:56:49] <jepler> O100 call
[20:56:49] <jepler> O100 endsub
[20:56:49] <jepler> O100 call
[20:57:03] <kb8wmc> aha....
[20:57:05] <jepler> because the subroutine calls itself forever, quickly exceeding the number of subroutine levels
[20:57:47] <kb8wmc> ok I will do some further examination and see what I can come up with
[20:58:33] <kb8wmc> thank you for your input
[20:58:36] <jepler> good luck
[20:58:58] <kb8wmc> you bet, will try to remember to let you know on my efforts
[20:59:45] <jepler> apparently the limit is 10. I don't know if the level outside any sub counts towards the total.
[21:01:04] <kb8wmc> could I make a "call" to another sub that performs the calculation requested, or would that still constitute as being within the actual sub ?
[21:02:04] <kb8wmc> I mean calling a sub outside the sub
[21:02:21] <jepler> when you 'endsub', that "subroutine level" ends
[21:02:39] <kb8wmc> rgr
[21:04:10] <kb8wmc> btw, my most sincere accolades to you and to cradek for LinuxCNC...a marvelous and well put together application
[21:04:15] <kb8wmc> thanks
[21:07:37] <jepler> thanks for the kind words
[21:08:15] <cradek> I apprecate that too, but credit goes to many more people than just us!
[21:08:23] <kb8wmc> my pleasure sir...I have an admiration for people with talent and actually use it...
[21:08:40] <kb8wmc> likewise to you also cradek
[21:08:50] <jepler> I really should cut parts with linuxcnc again sometime. I think it's been over a year...
[21:09:52] <kb8wmc> arrrgh....I am using it every week now...and tnx to cradek for the LISP application, use it several times a week
[21:10:14] <cradek> aha! that I can take all the credit for.
[21:10:24] <cradek> nobody else is crazy enough to write autolisp in this day and age.
[21:12:38] <kb8wmc> your application was a life-saver to me...I have used ACAD for so long, I have a difficult time when attempting to use another CAD program, so I find myself using ACAD because it only takes 1/50 of the amount of time as some other CAD, thus, I have never become competent with another
[21:13:15] <cradek> I feel the same way about it, which kind of makes me sad, being a huge free software bigot^Wadvocate
[21:14:36] <kb8wmc> yes sir, I am sure there are great programs out there, and I have tried quite a few, I just have not become adept at any of them because if I need something done, I usually need it right now, forcing me to use ACAD
[21:16:12] <kb8wmc> I did install DraftSight, it is a very close take-off of ACAD...I have recently been playing with it, and for the most part, so-far anyways, it is quite similar
[21:18:20] <kb8wmc> the only purpose I have for Windoze is ACAD, although I do have it installed under linux, some of the handy features don't run as well as under Micro-Broke
[21:19:02] <cradek> my autocad is so old it's a dos version, so I use qemu+freedos
[21:19:45] <cradek> (I think wfw3.11 is the last windows version I bought...)
[21:21:37] <archivist> we had a DOS version at work 20 years ago, hated it then, then Solidworks came along would never look back at etchasketch/acad
[21:21:43] <kb8wmc> rgr that....I started out in the mid-eighties on ACAD, when command line was all there was, hey I even still have a nice big Hitachi tablet and a for real small plotter
[21:22:26] <cradek> archivist: given infinite cash, I'd happily try solidworks too
[21:22:41] <kb8wmc> I still use the command line much of the time, but have found that having a mouse and plenty of icons is nice
[21:23:13] <archivist> once you think 3d, acad and command line is hard work
[21:23:26] <kb8wmc> I have only looked at solidworks, never used it...
[21:23:32] <cradek> some day I'm going to drag out one of the hitachi tablets I've got stashed, and find an old pentium 133 or somesuch, and make a real high-power acad workstation
[21:23:57] <kb8wmc> a little walk through memory land cradek?
[21:24:08] <cradek> I just doubt it'd run on anything much newer :-)
[21:24:21] <kb8wmc> lol
[21:24:42] <cradek> I recall it being plenty fast on my 486-66
[21:25:17] <cradek> I suppose it'd run on anything with enough isa slots for a dos-supported network card
[21:25:32] <kb8wmc> when I retired I got my very own ACAD 2000 seat, have used it since then, I do also have 13 and 14
[21:25:33] <cradek> I've got a P3 with isa I should try
[21:25:43] <cradek> mine's R12
[21:25:47] <kb8wmc> ah
[21:26:38] <kb8wmc> you LISP application has thus far served my needs for all that I have had to do
