[04:01:41] <cradek> weird - someone just sent me a change he made to truetype-tracer because he thinks the license (GPL2 or later) requires that he send any changes to me.
[04:39:18] <ries_> ries_ is now known as ries
[06:24:49] <micges> alex_joni: around?
[07:10:20] <alex_joni> micges: now
[08:17:49] <ries_> ries_ is now known as ries
[10:30:52] <micges> hi JT-Dev
[10:31:00] <JT-Dev> hi
[10:32:33] <micges> I just want to note while I remember: in master docs there is no info about halui.joint.unhome pins and there is no info about VOLATILE_HOME in homing ini configs section
[10:34:27] <micges> both functionality are in 2.4 too
[10:34:35] <JT-Dev> what does VOLATILE_HOME do? and what section is that in?
[10:36:02] <micges> jas
[10:38:13] <micges> as for VOLATILE_HOME option everything is ok
[10:38:23] <micges> only unhome pins
[10:39:10] <micges> VOLATILE_HOME is option to used with stepgen joints, if you disable machine, those joints are automatically unhomed
[10:39:30] <micges> so you must home machine again to continue program
[10:39:42] <micges> and you not loose accuracy
[10:39:56] <JT-Dev> ok
[10:40:52] <JT-Dev> micges: I'm trying to connect a feed override knob that puts out a binary 0-12 to indicate the feed override position.
[10:40:57] <JT-Dev> have you done this?
[10:41:59] <micges> phisically no but I emulate such thing connected to halui, it works fine
[10:42:32] <JT-Dev> I can get it to work somewhat by using ladder to "press" the halui.feed-override.increase and decrease pins but it misses sometimes
[10:43:09] <JT-Dev> I tried using hal comp to make the compare between the input and halui.feed-override.value but that does not work
[10:43:34] <micges> it misses?
[10:43:51] <micges> don't react for pin change? how fast are you clicking?
[10:44:05] <JT-Dev> yes if I turn the knob too fast it does not react to the pin change
[10:44:09] <JT-Dev> not very fast
[10:44:32] <JT-Dev> it needs to work as fast as I can move the knob with my hand
[10:45:11] <micges> I've noticed that while making many pin changes, not everything is processed
[10:45:21] <JT-Dev> if things don't look right I would turn the knob as fast as possible to 0 or 10% position and watch or abort
[10:45:58] <micges> looks like halui have not enought time
[10:46:37] <micges> I see
[10:47:29] <JT-Dev> I would think that if the knob was suddenly at 0 that the code would keep moving till feed override was at 0 but it does not for some reason
[10:48:33] <JT-Dev> I wonder if a comp would be better for this task?
[10:50:18] <micges> I would try with knob => halui (phisically) and see if it works properly
[10:50:53] <micges> if not then I would think on another soulution
[10:51:41] <JT-Dev> but halui only takes and increase and decrease pin not a number that I know of
[10:55:59] <JT-Dev> just looking at the man pages for 2.4 and 2.5 I don't see info about halui.joint.unhome pins

[11:03:57] <JT-Dev> halui.joint.unhome is in the manual but not in the man page
[11:07:07] <JT-Dev> hmmm looks like the man page is a manual troff document
[13:04:00] <cradek> I'm glad Slavko K found both those bugs before we released 2.4
[13:05:03] <micges> yes
[13:05:27] <micges> I didn't looked for estop latch bug yet
[13:07:51] <cradek> I have never even understood how that component is supposed to work
[13:08:26] <micges> heh
[13:08:37] <cradek> (so I use ladder for that)
[15:15:02] <micges> * micges goes for a ride
[19:26:21] <alex_joni> http://imagebin.ca/view/kx47Xv.html
[19:26:30] <alex_joni> mach clones anyone?

[19:28:28] <micges> me me!
[19:28:49] <micges> is it working?
[19:31:10] <SWPadnos> cool
[19:34:32] <alex_joni> micges: he's working on skins now
[19:34:38] <alex_joni> xml driven
[19:34:53] <alex_joni> the rest of it is working afaik
[19:34:58] <alex_joni> but it's pre-beta
[19:35:53] <micges> cool
[21:29:12] <micges> good night all
[21:30:11] <alex_joni> night micges
