[02:01:41] <mozmck> SWPadnos: you around?
[02:01:47] <SWPadnos> yep
[02:01:58] <mozmck> https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/UDSLucid
[02:02:07] <mozmck> are you on the Ubuntu kernel team?
[02:02:12] <SWPadnos> nope
[02:02:38] <mozmck> is that you that did that last edit though?
[02:02:41] <SWPadnos> I have thought about attending a UDS, but it's really for people who contribute to Ubuntu
[02:02:53] <SWPadnos> yes. I think there was a typo:)
[02:03:02] <mozmck> ah, I see :)
[02:03:28] <mozmck> I'm trying to figure out what changed for creating new flavours on lucid
[02:03:38] <SWPadnos> yep. my comment was "Fix typo in UbuntuSpec link"
[02:03:45] <SWPadnos> ah
[02:04:02] <mozmck> they moved some scripts, and stuff, but I still can't get it to work
[02:04:18] <mozmck> make: *** No rule to make target `binary-rtai'. Stop.
[02:04:29] <SWPadnos> hmm
[02:04:39] <mozmck> I created the flavour and configured it, but I get that when I try to run.
[02:05:04] <mozmck> run 'fdr binary-rtai' that is...
[02:05:15] <mozmck> which is what you did for karmic
[02:05:25] <SWPadnos> I didn't do that :)
[02:06:47] <SWPadnos> unfortunately, I haven't done much with building RTAI/EMC2 packages
[02:06:50] <mozmck> :) that's what I did
[02:07:12] <SWPadnos> (which will change very soon, since I'll be maintaining or co-maintaining 2.4)
[02:07:16] <SWPadnos> heh
[02:07:21] <SWPadnos> the generic "you"
[02:07:27] <mozmck> yeah, right now I'm just trying to compile the kernel.
[02:07:30] <mozmck> yup
[02:12:32] <SWPadnos> what is fdr?
[02:12:55] <mozmck> alias for fakeroot debian/rules
[02:13:01] <SWPadnos> ah, ok
[02:13:25] <mozmck> faster to type if you do it a lot
[02:13:35] <SWPadnos> I'd have to boot up another computer and find some stuff to be of any use at all, I'm afraid
[02:14:03] <mozmck> I'll get it sooner or later!
[02:14:13] <SWPadnos> did you set up some sort of alias on Jaunty?
[02:14:44] <SWPadnos> binary-rtai doesn't sound like an actual package name, or a kernel suffix
[02:15:52] <mozmck> no, binary-"flavour" is the way you compile a flavour for the karmic kernel
[02:16:09] <SWPadnos> ok
[02:16:12] <mozmck> so I made an rtai flavour and would compile it with binary-rtai
[02:16:37] <SWPadnos> ok. I can help with simple questions, like is it actually called rtai or is it RTAI, or rtai-3.8, or ... ?:)
[02:26:07] <mozmck> magma

[03:02:34] <cradek> fwiw, this is the cause of the jerky motion in nurbs: it's generating inappropriately small arcs once in a while
[03:04:20] <cradek> in fact lots of them look too small - butterfly has about 100 arcs per wing, and to my eye it looks like it should/could be a lot fewer
[03:05:09] <cradek> many are radius something like .010-.050 inch, but that one that cause jerky motion is .0005ish
[09:39:44] <KimK> webmaster: thanks!
[09:50:51] <alex_joni> err.. what?
