[01:18:06] <cradek> Get:2 http://www.linuxcnc.org hardy/base Translation-en_US
[01:18:10] <cradek> 99% [2 Translation-en_US bzip2 0] [Waiting for headers]bzip2: (stdin) is not a bzip2 file.
[01:18:19] <cradek> does anyone know what apt is trying to do? this is apt-get update.
[01:34:37] <fenn> website is down?
[01:35:08] <cradek> well no
[01:35:19] <cradek> there is Sources.gz but not Sources.bz2 which apt seems to want today
[01:35:44] <cradek> W: Failed to fetch http://www.linuxcnc.org/hardy/dists/hardy/base/binary-i386/Packages.bz2 Sub-process bzip2 returned an error code (2)
[01:35:52] <cradek> after lots of trying it eventually said this ^^
[01:45:55] <CIA-2> EMC: 03cmorley 07TRUNK * 10emc2/configs/common/configurable_options/pyvcp/m5i20panel.xml: make limit/home radio buttons effect signals names available for mesa i/o - parport to follow
[01:45:57] <CIA-2> EMC: 03cmorley 07TRUNK * 10emc2/src/emc/usr_intf/pncconf/pncconf.py: make limit/home radio buttons effect signals names available for mesa i/o - parport to follow
[09:22:44] <alex_joni> cradek: we never had a bz2
[13:26:44] <jepler> cradek: did you ever figure out your error? I saw something like it yesterday as well, but now it's not happening
[14:53:27] <cradek> nope
[14:54:37] <jepler> BigJohnT: do the docs mention how the machine X0 is important for controlling spindle speed in CSS mode? I didn't immediately find it.
[14:55:13] <BigJohnT> jepler: it doesn't ring a bell with me
[14:55:52] <BigJohnT> should be in the lathe section correct?
[14:56:38] <jepler> BigJohnT: cradek could probably give you the real dirt
[14:56:56] <BigJohnT> yep
[14:56:56] <cradek> well, it went away
[15:00:06] <jepler> cradek: is this right? CSS uses the machine X origin modified by the tool X offset to compute the spindle speed in RPM?
[15:02:24] <cradek> yes
[15:03:42] <jepler> the X offset in effect when CSS is enabled; it doesn't track later changes to tool offsets
[15:04:08] <cradek> I think that is incorrect
[15:04:16] <BigJohnT> and the X origin should be the center of the spindle
[15:05:53] <cradek> yes it DOES track later changes to tool offset
[15:06:49] <cradek> X machine origin should mean the reference tool (the one with zero offset) is at the center of rotation
[15:08:05] <jepler> hm, ok -- I only see emcmotStatus->spindle.xoffset being set in response to the spindle speed message, so I am surprised to hear it tracks changes to tool offsets
[15:08:24] <jepler> I bring this up because of Steve B's assertions that he doesn't care about where the machine origin is, it's not important to him, blah blah
[15:08:51] <cradek> it's possible that it's a bug how G54 X offset doesn't affect CSS
[15:10:31] <jepler> I am not taking a position on that at this time
[15:10:42] <cradek> bbl
[15:11:01] <jepler> I'm more interested in seeing the behavior documented properly
[15:11:21] <jepler> though if the current behavior is a big honking bug you'd better fix it before BigJohnT enshrines it forever as the spec
[15:11:24] <jepler> see you
[15:11:37] <BigJohnT> almost done :)
[15:47:33] <alex_joni> jepler: added the stuff from your email to http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emcinfo.pl?Internationalization , hope you don't mind
[15:50:18] <jepler> alex_joni: thank you
[15:52:14] <CIA-2> EMC: 03bigjohnt 07v2_3_branch * 10emc2/docs/src/hal/components.lyx: minor edit
[15:53:03] <alex_joni> jepler: thanks for replying to that guy, I've been meaning to, but put it off, then forgot about it

[16:41:21] <alex_joni> Blamelist: bigjohnt
[16:41:38] <BigJohnT> what did I do?
[16:42:28] <alex_joni> heh, you did nothing it seems
[16:42:42] <alex_joni> it's still failing to build the debs because of pcnconf or whatever that is called
[16:42:54] <alex_joni> but since you had the latest change, you're the one to blame
[16:43:28] <BigJohnT> heh
[16:45:05] <BigJohnT> I was fixin to say it builds here...
[16:47:23] <BigJohnT> * BigJohnT wanders off to take a nap
[16:49:34] <CIA-2> EMC: 03cmorley 07TRUNK * 10emc2/debian/emc2.files.in: fix so the buildbot passes- thanks Jeff
