[00:54:47] <jepler> jimlas53: I'm happy to have more testers of the experimental "gutsy" packages, but if you'd rather have a better experience out-of-the box, I recommend trying the existing package set for ubuntu dapper
[01:03:50] <jimlas53> jepler: I have no problem running both packages, I'm sure some feedback is always helpful. I will keep my current machine partitions and configurations because they work very well. I'm happy to set up test partitions and run emc2/Gutsy and emc2/Dapper, if it will help.
[01:10:49] <fenn> i think you should wait a month or so before trying gutsy
[01:11:42] <fenn> at least until the first batch of bugs gets fixed
[01:13:49] <jimlas53> fenn: Are you referring to the emc2/Gutsy experimental package?
[01:14:01] <fenn> no, i'm referring to the ubuntu distribution
[01:15:23] <jepler> I've only used it a bit myself -- certainly not for day-to-day work
[01:15:28] <fenn> * fenn is reading all the bug reports on his LUG mailing list
[01:19:04] <jimlas53> Oh, if you want to something really extraordinary, go to the Ubuntu forums. There are over 10K users on there tonight. Lots of install issues. But it may also point out that more people than ever are tired of the windows money cycle and are willing to try linux. Gutsy needs a few more weeks of serious bug work.
[01:19:53] <jepler> jimlas53: if you do give it a try, let me know how it works for you. do you have the URL to the experimental packages?
[01:20:45] <jimlas53> jepler: linuxcnc.org/experimental/gutsy
[01:20:53] <jepler> yep you got it
[01:21:09] <jimlas53> not bad for an old far*
[04:33:19] <LawrenceG> jepler:
[04:33:31] <tfmacz> jepler: can you help me with the xml formats on a pyvcp?
