[01:06:28] <jmkasunich_> hi guys
[01:11:40] <jmkasunich_> jmkasunich_ is now known as jmkasunich
[01:14:03] <jepler> hi jmkasunich
[01:14:19] <jmkasunich> howdy
[01:14:25] <jepler> what's up?
[01:14:30] <jmkasunich> water levels?
[01:14:45] <jepler> we had a short storm here earlier, but looks like it's blown over
[01:14:57] <jepler> sounds like you've had more than that
[01:15:02] <SWPadnos> heh
[01:15:03] <jmkasunich> friday and saturday were just beautiful
[01:15:09] <jmkasunich> sunday and today seemed more like november
[01:15:26] <SWPadnos> yeah - there's wuite a cold snap in these parts
[01:15:28] <SWPadnos> quite
[01:15:32] <jmkasunich> gray and overcast, low 60's high 50's and more-or-less constant drizzle
[01:15:59] <skunkworks_> our area has actually been in the national news
[01:16:14] <skunkworks_> 6 people killed so far
[01:16:27] <jmkasunich> flash floods?
[01:16:29] <skunkworks_> yes
[01:17:05] <skunkworks_> http://www.wkbt.com/
[01:17:15] <jmkasunich> its trying to make up for no rain at all in july
[01:17:47] <skunkworks_> same here
[01:19:05] <jepler> "In the end, the Air Force was required to suspend mission operations a minute before a leap-second and resume operations a minute after." -- risks digest
[01:19:32] <jmkasunich> heh
[01:20:01] <jmkasunich> "attention bad guys: please don't attack us between the hours of 23:59 and 00:01"
[01:20:11] <SWPadnos> yeah - imagine if all the satellites and other semi-autonomous platforms suddenly decided they were in the wrong position (and all GPS coordinates are wrong ...)
[01:20:54] <jmkasunich> skunkworks_: http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=73055
[01:21:06] <jmkasunich> we've had some flooding here too, but no deaths fortunately
[01:22:35] <skunkworks_> yikes
[02:04:11] <SWPadnos> oh hey jmkasunich - do you want a 5i22 at the 5-piece price?
[02:04:52] <SWPadnos> $342 instead of $429 - the 1.5Mgate one
[02:05:38] <jmkasunich> maybe next time you order ;-)
[02:05:58] <jmkasunich> I've got plenty to keep me busy
[02:06:12] <SWPadnos> heh
[02:06:16] <SWPadnos> ok. any analog parts? :)
[02:06:22] <skunkworks_> jmkasunich how is the plumbing going?
[02:06:23] <jmkasunich> I need to pry myself out of my current funk and get working again
[02:06:32] <jmkasunich> the sewer work will start the day after labor day
[02:06:40] <SWPadnos> pew
[02:13:43] <jepler> keypresses seem to get doubled on my amd64 machine while running emc2
[02:13:48] <jepler> some of them anyway
[02:13:51] <jepler> that can't be a good sign :-P
[02:15:14] <jepler> the GUI also pauses strangely
[02:15:19] <jepler> I guess there are more things to debug
[02:15:41] <jepler> but it is making me think I should use a good old-fashioned 32 bit install instead, if I want to do real worl
[02:15:44] <jepler> work
[02:15:57] <jmkasunich> damned new fangled computers
[11:45:08] <alex_joni> morning jeff
[12:07:13] <jepler> hi alex
[12:09:14] <alex_joni> you forgot to join #emc-board ;)
[12:09:29] <alex_joni> SWPadnos: likewise
[12:09:37] <SWPadnos> heh - oops :)
[19:56:45] <skunkworks> hmm - voting is going to be a mess.
[19:57:27] <cradek> do you think this is the best way to fix it?
[19:58:02] <skunkworks> I think there is going to be a lot of people that say they didn't get a ballot because of their spam filters.
[19:58:36] <cradek> we're just making a new list of the people I missed. I don't think there will be much problem.
[19:59:04] <skunkworks> look at the last emc-user email
[19:59:30] <cradek> he didn't get one, just like stuart (st*)
[19:59:41] <skunkworks> ah - first name..
[19:59:45] <cradek> no, email address
[19:59:58] <skunkworks> uh - right that is what I ment ;)
[20:00:04] <skunkworks> that should work.
[20:00:20] <skunkworks> he is just confused.
[20:00:37] <skunkworks> never mind about the 'going to be a mess'
[20:00:57] <cradek> I let him know that
[20:01:27] <cradek> ouch, along with a sadly abused semicolon
[20:05:37] <skunkworks> * skunkworks had to look at it a few time to figure out what you ment
[20:06:12] <cradek> I added the "Since" at the end, and didn't fix the punctuation accordingly
[20:08:30] <skunkworks> cradek: could you check to see if the var file has data in it for the g54 offset in 2.1.7 (for shits and giggles)
[20:08:51] <skunkworks> for stepper_inch
[20:09:35] <cradek> http://cvs.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/emc2/configs/stepper/stepper.var?rev=1.1;only_with_tag=RELEASE_2_1_7
[20:10:14] <skunkworks> hmm - odd
[20:10:26] <skunkworks> then I don't know what I was seeing
[20:10:55] <cradek> you can see from the tags that it was this version in all of 2.0 and 2.1
[20:13:18] <skunkworks> yes
[20:13:29] <skunkworks> odd. Now I wonder what I was doing ;)
[20:13:35] <cradek> me too!
[20:16:12] <alex_joni> * alex_joni doesn't wonder anymore
[20:46:55] <skunkworks> cradek: how come I got a ballot? because of emc_devel?
[20:47:56] <cradek> ask alex
[20:48:29] <cradek> oh hang on, you mean the first time?
[20:48:33] <skunkworks> yes
[20:48:54] <cradek> ... you're subscribed to one of the lists right?
[20:48:59] <skunkworks> both
[20:49:06] <cradek> then that's why
[20:49:08] <skunkworks> ah
[20:49:10] <cradek> sorry I don't understand your question
[20:49:22] <skunkworks> just wondering - I didn't explain myself very well
[20:49:38] <skunkworks> my email starts with S
[20:49:58] <cradek> sa*
[20:50:02] <cradek> first page of S
[20:50:05] <skunkworks> ah
[20:50:19] <skunkworks> I will shut up now. sorry. I don't think I am all here today
[20:50:35] <cradek> :-)
[20:54:14] <skunkworks> almost time to go home anyways. Too much relational database hoha today.
[20:57:27] <alex_joni> eek
[22:10:08] <skunkworks> cradek: got a second?
[22:32:18] <skunkworks> my issue homing is because the touchoff offsets where set (g54) so when you home it - you expect the readout to be 0 but it isn't.
[23:26:53] <cradek> skunkworks: sure
[23:36:27] <Guest783> Guest783 is now known as skunkworks_
[23:37:35] <cradek> skunkworks: what's up?
[23:38:43] <skunkworks_> Oh - I was just saying that with the g54 touchoff - homing doesn't zero. I am sure that was my issue
[23:40:01] <cradek> no g54 is preserved over homing - that's a feature!
[23:40:24] <skunkworks_> that is just fine. Takes a second to figure out what was going on.
[23:40:35] <skunkworks_> :)
