[18:41:36] <chinamill> I dont know if the 3D window is updated sinse BDI 4.30. It shows a rellay baeutiful toolpath, but it not correct. I presume some matris calculation bug (4 axis g-code)
[18:41:54] <chinamill> (of Axis)
[18:43:06] <alex_joni> how do you mean not correct?
[18:43:09] <alex_joni> what seems wrong?
[18:43:18] <alex_joni> I know cradek uses AXIS with a 4-axes machine
[18:43:20] <chinamill> It is twisted somehow
[18:43:31] <alex_joni> even 3-axes code?
[18:43:37] <chinamill> No
[18:43:40] <alex_joni> like the testfiles in nc_code?
[18:44:00] <alex_joni> ok.. did you experience any crashes with AXIS so far?
[18:44:01] <chinamill> dont know of that
[18:44:19] <chinamill> No... I pray ;)
[18:44:44] <alex_joni> cradek or jepler_ : you got to take over for AXIS now.. I don't know much specifics there
[18:46:19] <cradek> I don't think it's tested with 4-axis gcode
[18:46:26] <cradek> I think the fourth axis will be ignored
[18:46:53] <chinamill> no, I dont think so....
[18:47:28] <chinamill> It looks really cool, but not correct
[18:47:55] <chinamill> Everything gets into arcs
[18:48:01] <cradek> when you run the program, does the red line follow the white lines?
[18:48:07] <chinamill> nope
[18:48:11] <chinamill> yes
[18:48:37] <chinamill> I mean the red line folows... But I have to scroll to follow it
[18:48:57] <cradek> can you give a screenshot?
[18:49:13] <chinamill> Sorry I misunderstod You
[18:49:25] <cradek> can you send me a picture of your screen to show what it's doing
[18:49:34] <chinamill> Thought You ment the code window
[18:49:51] <chinamill> The mill is off line
[18:50:01] <chinamill> But later I can do it
[18:50:15] <chinamill> ok?
[18:50:24] <cradek> ok
[18:50:37] <alex_joni> cradek: might I bug you?
[18:52:13] <cradek> sure
[18:52:28] <alex_joni> I have finished updating the make install code
[18:52:41] <alex_joni> how could I now commit that to the branch.. I wonder
[18:53:10] <alex_joni> simply copy a Tag file inside all CVS folders?
[18:53:11] <cradek> do you mean to a new branch?
[18:53:15] <alex_joni> and do a cvs up?
[18:53:34] <alex_joni> no.. to an existing branch, but I made the changes on the HEAD code
[18:53:50] <cradek> so you checked out HEAD and made changes, but you don't want them on HEAD now?
[18:53:54] <alex_joni> yes
[18:54:48] <cradek> I think you can change your sticky branch with "cvs up -rTHE_BRANCH"
[18:54:48] <alex_joni> I could simply copy all files over the ones I checked out from the branch.. I suppose
[18:54:51] <chinamill> * chinamill is away: eat
[18:54:58] <cradek> then you cvs commit normally
[18:55:02] <alex_joni> I see
[18:55:43] <cradek> when you do the up, the files that you haven't changed will get changed to the version from THE_BRANCH
[18:55:50] <cradek> ... I think
[18:56:15] <alex_joni> don't care.. I think
[18:56:35] <alex_joni> how about checking out a clean HEAD
[18:56:36] <cradek> there's also the -j thing
[18:56:41] <alex_joni> then commit that to the branch
[18:56:48] <alex_joni> then commit the changes I did also to the branch
[18:56:53] <cradek> I think you need to read the man page, because that's what I'm doing :-)
[18:57:08] <alex_joni> or.. fsck it all, I should only commit to HEAD and basta ;)
[18:57:27] <alex_joni> my code doesn't break anything.. not that I know
[18:57:38] <cradek> you can easily get your changes with cvs diff -u
[19:05:56] <mshaver_away> mshaver_away is now known as mshaver
[19:33:00] <millchina> * millchina is away: eating
[19:34:30] <alex_joni> you are confusing people if you keep changing your username
[19:42:13] <alex_joni> cradek: sweet stuff.. just created an emc2 deb
[19:42:16] <alex_joni> :-)
[19:42:24] <alex_joni> off the make install
[19:50:26] <millchina> * millchina is back
[19:56:57] <alex_joni> millchina: decide on a username and stick to it ;)
[19:58:42] <millchina> I'm scitsofrenic
[20:03:21] <alex_joni> * alex_joni takes your word for that
[20:50:42] <alex_joni> alex_joni is now known as alex_joni_away
[20:54:19] <mshaver> mshaver is now known as mshaver_away
[21:24:04] <alex_joni_away> alex_joni_away is now known as alex_joni
